NICF Annual General Meeting - 5 November 2024
The NICF Annual General Meeting took place earlier this month at the Museum of Carpet, Kidderminster and online via Zoom.
To open the meeting there was a presentation on the InstallerSHOW 2025 from Nathan Garnett, Business Development Director for Lyrical Communications the show organisers. NICF is an official partner for the exhibition and will be holding the semi-final practical trials of the 2025 Fitter of the Year competition at the event. Mr Garnett gave an insight into the exhibition and an overview of the plans for the 2025 event to include a newly established flooring section.
The minutes of the 2023 Annual General Meeting, the year end accounts for 2023/2024 and the Report of Council for 2023/2024 were all approved at the meeting.
Council elections took place with eight Council places available. We would like to welcome newly elected Council members Matthew Blackbourn and Paul Sycamore (Bostik Ltd). Re-elected to Council were Jason Draper, Ian James, Brian King, Mark Smurthwaite, Brett Warren and Matthew Yerrell. The term of office for Council members is three years.
Officer elections also took place with Jason Draper elected to the role of President; Dan Jones elected to the role of Vice-President and Brian King elected as Honorary Treasurer. The term of office for these roles is two years.
On being elected President, Jason Draper comments "I am delighted to have been elected to serve as NICF President for the next two years and and very proud to be taking on this role. I’ll ensure that I represent our members, our organisation and our trade in a way to progress and boost the industry. Thank you."
